HyperloopTT and SuperRare offer world’s first hyperloop NFTs
Playa Vista, CA (July 1, 2021) — Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT) and leading NFT marketplace SuperRare announced a collaboration to release the world’s first hyperloop-inspired non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The first of three HyperloopTT drops will go live on July 13 at 11 am Pacific (2 pm Eastern). The winning bid of each auction will receive an exclusive invitation to visit HyperloopTT’s closed-to-the-public research facility to see the world’s only full-scale hyperloop test track in Toulouse, France.
The artwork was created in collaboration with Popular Science cover artist Tavis Coburn to commemorate the work being done in the Great Lakes Megaregion. HyperloopTT’s Great Lakes Hyperloop project is the most advanced in the world. A comprehensive feasibility study conducted by independent transportation economists found that a HyperloopTT system connecting the cities of Chicago, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh can operate profitably without requiring government subsidies and generates long-lasting economic and environmental benefits.
America’s railroad epicenter throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, Chicago’s travel poster celebrates the city’s history and looks forward to a new era of travel. As a key transportation and manufacturing hub for much of the 20th century, Cleveland’s travel poster depicts the next generation of opportunity for the city. The home of American steel once led from the mines and the mills, Pittsburgh’s poster shows the city reborn as a sustainable industrial leader. Each NFT honors the cities’ unique heritage and celebrates the potential of connecting the Great Lakes Megaregion with commercial hyperloop systems.
HyperloopTT’s decision to mint and auction NFTs comes as commercial hyperloop adoption continues to gain momentum in the United States and around the world. The company’s CEO, Andres de Leon, testified before the United States House of Representatives, providing congressional members with an update on the progress and advancements of commercial hyperloop systems in the United States. Currently testing on the world’s only full-scale hyperloop test track in Toulouse, France, HyperloopTT is giving the public an opportunity to purchase exclusive one-of-one digital artworks to commemorate the progress and celebrate a hyperloop-enabled future. The NFTs will be available for auction throughout July at SuperRare.com/HyperloopTT.
“As a company, HyperloopTT embraces innovation to redefine how we live, work and connect,” said HyperloopTT Chief Marketing Officer Rob Miller. “Transformative hyperloop travel, supported by blockchain technologies, will inspire a new generation of adventures. The frontier of sustainable transportation is hyperloop, and NFTs represent the convergence of the digital and physical worlds.”

About SuperRare
SuperRare is a marketplace to collect and trade unique, single-edition digital artworks. Each artwork is authentically created by an artist in the network, and tokenized as a crypto-collectible digital item that you can own and trade. Each artwork on SuperRare is a digital collectible– a digital object secured by cryptography and tracked on the blockchain. That’s just a fancy way of saying they’re scarce items that can be collected, and that hold value just like cryptocurrencies like ether and bitcoin.
